AAUW promotes equity for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change. Founded in 1881, with now 100,000 individual members and 1,300 college/institution partners, AAUW is the oldest and largest national organization working for the advancement of women.

  • has 128 members and GROWING—Graduates with an associate or equivalent degree, baccalaureate or higher degree, or an international equivalent. Geographic area includes, but is not limited to, Mountain Lakes, Denville, Boonton, Boonton Township, Montville, Parsippany and Rockaway.   • holds monthly Programs—alternating day and eveningwith outstanding speakers and learning trips. April 18, Field Trip to the Price-Baldwin House, Chatham. (See Programs)
  • provides Scholarships for local college women. 2008 winners will be announced at the May 9th Luncheon

    5th Annual Book/Media Sale, Apr. 25, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Apr. 26, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Early Birds, $25 to buy 8:30-9 a.m. only on Apr. 25. On last day, Sat. 1/2 price 1-3 p.m.; $5/bag after 3 p.m.
    We need books, CDs, DVDs
    , audio and video tapes to sell. Donate at the ML Library downstairs, April 23, 9-5 and April 24, 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

  • Community activities include participation in and support for the Fall UN Weekend and Telling Tales. Members also support the every woman vote - a national AAUW initiative and literacy volunteers.
  • dialogue on State and National AAUW public policy issues. Look for the cooperative voter registration initiative Fall 2008. (See Public Policy).
  • arranges sparkling Social gatherings. Annual May Luncheon, budget vote, and installation of officers is on 11:30 a.m - 12 p.m. May 9 at The Villa, Mountain Lakes. Reservations to Bonnie Cytron
  • publishes The Chrysalis, a monthly newsletter e-mailed as an Acrobat pdf or mailed to members. If you prefer to receive a hardcopy of the newsletter by mail, notify Kathy Pizar.
